Dan and I celebrated our eighth wedding anniversary this weekend. A big thank you to both sets of grandparents and aunt Robby for taking the boys so that we could take a trip together.
And what a trip it was- we went to Mars. Unfortunately we had fog Saturday and Sunday and couldn't see any of the majestic vistas which Bryce is famous for. But, if the planet Mars gains more of an atmosphere and warms up, then Dan and I have a pretty good idea what to expect.
This is for you Bob, an attempt at fine art photography.
Dan, trying to make his way through a snow filled tunnel.
Bryce is beautiful in the winter, but there is only one restaurant open in the entire area and it is awful!!!! Do not eat at Ruby's Inn if you can help it. We were so disgusted after the first night that we bought TV dinners at the little grocery store and ate in our car. There was a German couple watching us cook them and I'm pretty sure they thought we were crazy. And yes, those are new glasses- I was disappointed when no one at church noticed. :)
This is the bed and breakfast: Stone Canyon Inn; it was great.

When we got there on Friday we had picture perfect weather. Looks like a postcard. We had a great time snow shoeing and even went on a guided ranger tour with people from all over the country and world.

Looks like you guys had a great time. Ape and I did that same trip four years ago in March. It was amazing, there was 18 inches of fresh snow and the park was absolutely empty. We did a few hikes in knee deep snow, and took some of the best pictures of the red-rock contrasted by pure-white snow. On a side note, we camped for one of the nights there. The low was -18 F. What a trip. All the best.
What gorgeous pictures. The one at top of you is awesome! What a great way to spend an anniversary.
Happy Anniversary you guys! What beautiful pics! Looks like tons of fun! That stinks about the food at Ruby's Inn! Janet, I love your new glasses, by the way! (Your Christmas sounded like a blast! The boys sure got some awesome toys!)
Hey Janet, Just found your blog through April's link. Your pics are so beautiful. . . what a great idea for an anniversary! I may have to copy you---but, yes I will avoid the Ruby's diner.
