This weekend we took a trip to Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. It's about a 3 hour drive from Salt Lake and I've never been, a fact that I've mentioned to Dan on numerous occasions and he finally got the hint that I wanted him to take me :) We had a great time and the boys really seemed to enjoy themselves. This is Delicate Arch, the one pictured on Utah's license plates.
You've got to love the French tourists. Who else would carry a pink umbrella to protect against the sun while hiking.
The boys did surprisingly well camping. They didn't cry and except for falling off the mattress several times throughout the night I was able to get some sleep. Seth especially liked crawling around the tent.
Eating breakfast at camp
Brad getting excited for the hike.
We had to take this picture because Seth looks so chunky and happy here with his big belly and covered in potato chip crumbs and Teddy Grahams.
Landscape Arch
We must say that this trip has now fully immersed us into parenthood. What is more suburban America than taking a family trip to the National Parks with your station wagon loaded with camping gear, yes we took the white Subaru wagon.

What a fun trip! We have to keep reminding ourselves that we can have fun here, even though we're not in beautiful Utah. The mosquitos here are relentless and MANY, but we're going to try our hand at the family camping again this Friday at our ward campout. Any suggestions??
Happy 1st Year Boys!
I am sooooo impressed that you could haul that chubby checkers on your back while hiking...way to go Janet!!
What are you trying to do, make the rest of us parents look bad?
Thanks for telling us about your trip.....we don't live too far from Moab at all and would've to see you guys. You should've called us. I see how close we are.......! Looks like it was a fun trip.
The pictures at delicate arch are so amazing. I'm glad the boys were so good for you. You are much braver than I!
